The Jasper Highlands Fire Department was recently awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant of $49,761.90 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This grant will allow the department to replace 20+ year old 5-inch fire hose that is at the end of its service life, plus allow the purchase of additional water supply adapters and firefighting appliances that will expand the department’s water supply options and capabilities.
FEMA has provided similar grants to fire departments across the country to obtain needed equipment. This grant will allow the JHFD to continue to provide a high level of service to Jasper Highlands and to support mutual aid requests when needed in Marion County.
