Sequatchie Valley Now has learned more about the deceased female that was found Sunday morning in the parking lot of Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant in Monteagle. The restaurant is located near the Marion/Franklin County line.
According to reports, the female was age 16 and is believed to be originally from Guatemala.
She was spotted by an off-duty Franklin County deputy lying on her back in the middle of the parking lot.
“At the request of 12th Judicial District Attorney General Courtney Lynch, TBI special agents are working alongside the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the circumstances leading to the death of the teenager.
Mi Casa Restaurant stated in a social media post that the tragic incident occurred outside their establishment between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
The restaurant added that she was seemingly walking back from the direction of Sewanee.
