Fire Destroys Log Home in Dunlap

On Sunday morning (December 17, 2023), around 11:30, the Dunlap Fire Department responded to a residential fire on Tram Trail near Highway 111. The log home was constructed approximately 120 years ago.

Upon arrival, firefighters entered the residence and began search operations. Approximately 30 minutes later, firefighters received word that the occupant was not home. Firefighters continued an interior attack until the roof started to fall. The home was a total loss.

There were no injuries, and Dunlap Police, Puckett EMS, and Sequatchie County EMA supported firefighters. Piney VFD provided mutual aid. EMA Director Rhueling contacted the Red Cross for immediate assistance. Pictures are by various agencies on the scene.
