Road Work Delayed in Dunlap

Due to inclement weather and possible strong winds, the Sequatchie County Emergency Management announced that construction is being rescheduled to Wednesday, January 10.

The construction project near Coops Creek on Hwy 127/ Rankin Ave in Dunlap includes improvements for stormwater drainage. Part of these improvements require a large storm drainage inlet basin to be placed alongside the roadway. This construction will require the southbound lane of Hwy 127 / Rankin Ave to be closed at the worksite.

Construction work is expected to begin on Wednesday, January 10. The construction requiring closure of the southbound lane will be conducted between 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Only one lane will be available for traffic during this time, and temporary traffic lights will be in operation. North and southbound lanes will remain open for two-way daily traffic from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This construction is expected to be completed within 3 to 5 days. Drivers may use either Main Street or Elm Street to avoid the construction area and lane closures.
