Fire Destroys Jasper Duplex

At 6:48 Sunday morning, a structure fire was reported at the 300 block of West 4th Street in Jasper. Jasper Fire, Haletown Volunteer Fire Department, and Kimball Fire Department responded.

An aggressive interior attack was performed to get the fire under control.

Freezing temperatures caused difficulty with firefighting efforts. The duplex apartment was a complete loss. There were no injuries to firefighters or residents.

The American Red Cross has been called in to assist the displaced residents.
