The USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service has launched a new program called the Summer EBT to combat child hunger.
This permanent program provides eligible families with benefits preloaded onto cards, which can be used at any grocery store that accepts SNAP or WIC benefits.
The USDA expects more than 30 million children to benefit from this program.
If you have one child, you’ll get $40/month, so 120 dollars for those three months.
The USDA reports 30 states have already notified the USDA about their intentions to launch a program. Tennessee is among those states.
