At 2:45 PM CST, Monday 2/5/2024, the Dunlap Fire Department was called to assist a hang glider who crash-landed in a tree off East Valley Road. An unexpected shift in the wind caused the glider to hit the trees instead of the pasture.
The individual was not injured, and firefighters were able to rig a system to lower the person to the ground. The individual was an experienced rock climber and was able to tie himself to the provided ropes.
