MCHS Valmont Pre-Apprectices recognized at luncheon Tuesday

Students participating in the pre-apprenticeship welding program at Marion County High School were recognized for their achievements in the program at a special luncheon on Tuesday.

Those in the program have practiced the welding trade through a pre-apprentice program in conjunction with the district and school’s CTE (Career Tech Education) program and local company, Valmont Industries.

All of these students are also now certified welders.

Students were treated to the luncheon courtesy of Valmont, and were awarded a certificate and recognized for their hard work and learning of the trade.

One MCHS student, Harlie Carson, was awarded a Miller welding helmet for winning a welding competition amongst his peers in the program last semester.
