At 6:51 Saturday night, Haletown Volunteer Fire Department responded to Interstate 24 WB MM 159 for an RV fire. Haletown received manpower and water supply assistance from the Jasper and Kimball Fire Departments.
The interstate was shut down while firefighters extinguished the blaze. There were no injuries reported.
Also, at 11:36 Saturday night, the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department reported to the 700 block of Ladds Switch Road for a structure fire. When they arrived, the unoccupied structure was a fully involved fire.
Jasper Fire Department was requested for a third apparatus and manpower. Due to the lack of nearby hydrants, Kimball Fire Department was requested to have their tanker aid in the water supply.
While Haletown and Jasper crews battled the blaze and kept the fire from spreading to nearby structures, Kimball Fire began drafting water from a nearby creek.
The home was a complete loss, but the fire was contained to protect nearby residences thanks to firefighting efforts. There were no injuries reported.
