Tennessee Tree Day is Saturday, March 16th across the state.
If you reserved seedlings online from the Tennessee Environmental Council (TEC), those will be available for pickup either Friday, March 15th or Saturday, March 16th, depending on the schedule of the location you chose while reserving seedlings.
The South Pittsburg SVEC office at 512 Cedar Avenue is one of those pickup locations. They will be open for pickups on Friday only between 7:30am and 4:30pm.
Pickups at the UT Extension Office on Betsy Pack Drive in Jasper will be available from 9am until 1pm both Friday and Saturday.
In Sequatchie County, pickups are Saturday from 9am until Noon at the Sequatchie County Fair Building.
TEC says if you didn’t reserve trees in time this year, some other things you can do this weekend or later this spring include finding a local tree event near you, buying a tree at a local nursery or garden center and planting it this weekend, requesting a native pollinator seed packet through TEC and transform part of your lawn to a native habitat by going onlune to tectn.org.
