On Thursday, 3/14/2024, the Dunlap Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on SR 111/8 just below the waterfall’s pull-off. A pickup, towing a trailer loaded with a truck, caught fire going up the mountain.
The incident required closing the highway while firefighters extinguished the fire.
Dunlap Fire and Sequatchie County EMA, Cagle VFD, Sequatchie County Rescue, and Sequatchie County Sheriff deputies responded.
Ironically, the vehicle on the trailer was an out-of-service 1980s model fire truck. There were no injuries. Photos by Dunlap Fire.
