Local fire departments and Fire Rehab were called to a multi-acre wildfire at 13294 Highway 41 around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Upon arrival, Haletown Fire and Jasper Highlands Fire began battling the fire. Shortly after, the Tennessee Division of Forestry arrived to assist.
Fire Rehab was asked to remain on the scene per Forestry following Haletown and Jasper Highlands’ departure. Rehab provided drinks and various snacks to the Forestry crew before they started construction of a containment line. The fire was brought under control after about six hours.
