Forestry helicopter assists with firefighting.
On Saturday, Tennessee Forestry Fire crews responded to a large wildfire on the side of Signal Mountain above Kell Loop. As many as four dozers were deployed along with a helicopter for water drops.
Dunlap Fire ported to the scene for structural protection and assistance with helicopter water pickup. The fire was near the Kell Loop and Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
Helicopter operations ceased due to nightfall, but dozer operations continued. Dunlap Volunteer Firefighters continued to provide structural protection.
Around 9 AM Sunday, Forestry called the wildfire 100% contained.
