Deputy Involved in Recent Head-On Collision Admits Mistake

Tim Cash

Marion County Sheriff Bo Burnett says Deputy Tim Cash is facing a verbal warning and will be disciplined after he admitted to not wearing a seatbelt. Cash was hit head-on in a Sunday night crash on Hwy 41 near Marion County Park.

Cash has taken full responsibility for what he called ‘a mistake.’ This is the deputy’s first offense.

Cash is now at home recovering from the injuries he received in the brutal crash.

The four people in the other vehicle were also injured. A Tennessee Highway report states the Toyota RAV4 crossed the center lane and struck Cash in his patrol unit.

Only the driver of the Toyota was wearing a seatbelt.
