On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, a shooting took place in Whitwell. When the police arrived at the scene, they observed the victim to be bleeding heavily from the left leg and the left hand. The victim advised that he had been shot by a black male, identified as Troy Walters. The victim was transported via EMS to Erlanger in Chattanooga.
DTF Agents took Walters into custody after observing his vehicle crossing Highway 28.
A witness advised that a black male had exited the exact vehicle and thrown two metal items into the river.
Whitwell Police charged Walters with Aggravated Assault and Tampering with Evidence. This is an ongoing investigation.
