Suspected Meth and Marijuana Located During Traffic Stop in Sequatchie County

Sequatchie County deputies continue to work to remove drugs from the area. A recent traffic stop turned into drug confiscation and arrests.

Deputy Heath Land initiated this stop on December 2, 2024, for obvious traffic infractions and quickly found almost 10 grams of suspected drugs, believed to be mostly “METH” along with an amount of suspected marijuana. This resulted in the arrests of two occupants, James Stewart and Juliette McAllister, for drug charges and Jonathan Nunley, for driving on a revoked license.

While this is a smaller amount of drugs than Sequatchie County deputies usually publicize, it is a grim reminder of the issues the community still faces each day.

Unfortunately, addiction continues to be a real problem for many, and they are going to keep their drugs nearby. In contrast, law enforcement throughout the county continues to work to combat this issue through enforcement and treatment.

“The sheriff’s office continues to work to improve the training and resources for all employees working to combat this epidemic, and I am very proud of those working day and night to do just that,” said Sheriff Bill Phillips.
