Saturday night at approximately 8:40 PM, Dunlap Fire responded to a single-vehicle crash on SR 399 near the Sequatchie-Grundy County Line. Reports to 911 were that a female was trapped in the vehicle, with extrication being needed for her.

Dunlap Rescue 1 and 2 and Brush 2, along with Cagle Volunteer Fire Department Engine 1, Puckett EMS, and Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office deputies, responded to the scene.

Just as Dunlap Fire units were arriving on the scene, the female was able to exit the vehicle and was assisted to the ambulance. She was transported to Erlanger Sequatchie for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle stated that he and the female, his passenger, were traveling towards Grundy County on SR 399 when a large tree limb fell, striking the windshield and top of the vehicle. The driver was able to maintain control and stop the vehicle, preventing a more serious crash either into the wall or over the guardrail.
