2nd Annual Matt Blansett Memorial ATV Ride

The 2nd annual Matt Blansett Memorial ATV Ride will take place at the Coalmont, TN OHV Park in Grundy County on Saturday, September 9. Registration begins at 9 AM, and the ride at 10 AM. If you plan on bringing a camper, book your spot at www.coalmontohvpark.com. All fees go to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department Christmas for Kids program.

At the time of his unfortunate death, Blansett was serving as a detective with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department. A helicopter crash near Whiteside claimed the lives of Blansett and THP Sgt. Lee Russell.

The two men were working normal operations for the Governor’s Task Force on Marijuana Eradication, but as they were flying, officials asked them to search for a missing person, and that’s when the crash occurred.
