Downed Trees Blocked I-24 on Sunday and Responding Haletown Emergency Vehicle Struck by Another

On Sunday morning at 9:22, Haletown Volunteer Fire Department responded to I-24 EB MM 166 for a tree down across both lanes of traffic.

While en route to the downed tree, a driver reportedly pulled out in front of a responding emergency vehicle, striking the truck. No injuries were reported.

Haletown Firefighters, along with TDOT and THP, cleared the roadway of the tree and reopened the interstate.

Remember to pay attention when traveling and keep the side of the interstate clear when traffic is stopped so emergency responders can access the roadway.
