The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reports one boating-related fatality during the 2024 Memorial Day holiday weekend. The holiday period extended from 5 p.m. Friday through midnight Monday.
The death occurred on Watts Bar Reservoir when 19-year-old Braeden Hartup jumped from a boat and did not resurface.
There were boating accidents resulting in injuries across the state along with eight property damage incidents.
Thirteen people were charged with Boating Under the Influence (BUI) during the time frame.
