Free Fishing Day is Saturday

Tennessee’s 2024 Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day is June 8. All Tennesseans and even non-residents of any age can fish without a license. Additionally, youngsters ages 15 or less can fish for free Friday, June 14.

All public waters, TWRA-owned and operated lakes, and state parks will be accessible to fish for free without a license, said Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA).

The events are named in honor of Bobby Wilson, who retired after more than 40 years of service with TWRA. 35 of those years, he was with the Fisheries Division.
