On Wednesday evening, around 7:30, Haletown Fire and Rescue was toned to the Little Cedar Mountain hiking trail for an injured hiker. After pinging the patient’s location, Haletown Fire and Rescue, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, and Puckett EMS walked a mile and a half to the incident. After making arrangements with Marion County Rescue, the fastest extrication was 100 yards to the river. After stabilizing the patient, they carried it to an improvised boat landing. Once there, the EMTs loaded the patient onto the boat and transported the person to a waiting ambulance.
