Critter Knocks Out Power

A widespread power outage took place in the Jasper area on Friday morning. The outage was traced back to an unlikely culprit.

Security footage captured the moment a small critter triggered a fault inside the Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative substation in Jasper. It caused significant damage and knocked out power to a large portion of the area.

Crews responded quickly, using the footage to pinpoint the issue and began repairs.
