Lake Winnepesaukah Receives National Award

Lake Winnie Boat Chute

Lake Winnepesaukah recently received national recognition for its longstanding contribution to the amusement park industry. On Sunday, July 27, the National Amusement Park Historical Association presented a commemorative plaque to the Chattanooga-area amusement park, acknowledging 100 years of continuous family ownership and service to the community.

This accolade was part of NAPHA’s annual ParkHop tour, which honors historic amusement parks across the United States. Established in 1925, Lake Winnepesaukah is distinguished as the nation’s second-longest continuously family-owned amusement park.

To commemorate this achievement, attendees participated in exclusive ride sessions on the park’s renowned Cannonball coaster and the rare Boat Chute prior to the official ceremony. With this recognition, Lake Winnepesaukah becomes one of only 18 amusement parks nationwide to be celebrated for reaching the centennial milestone.
