Sex Offender Arrested at Dunlap Festival

On the evening of Saturday, September 13, 2025, during the Small-Town America Festival at Harris Park, a citizen notified Dunlap Police Officers of the presence of a known registered sex offender, Joseph Jeremiah Walley.

Officers located Walley at the park and confirmed his identity. Upon contact, Walley acknowledged he was a registered sex offender. Officers informed him that, per the conditions of his registry, he is prohibited from being at public parks. Walley claimed he was unaware of the restriction and stated he was attending the festival.

Walley was arrested and transported to the Sequatchie County Justice Center, where he was released into the custody of correctional staff. He is currently being held without bond.

Joseph Walley was arrested for violating the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry and transported to the Sequatchie County Jail. He is currently being held without bond.
