Alcohol-Related Deaths On the Rise

Alcohol-related deaths are on the rise in the Volunteer State, according to data from the Tennessee Department of Health, matching a nationwide trend.

State data shows alcohol-attributable deaths in Tennessee increased more than 24% from 2019 to 2023.

According to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, alcohol-related deaths in women aged 25 to 34 have seen a 255% increase since 1999.
