Search Continues for Missing Sequatchie County Man

Matthew Tyler Henry was last seen in Dunlap, TN, on April 15th, 2018.

In the past, it has been reported that he was last seen talking to someone in a black Silverado outside of the Dollar Tree. Law Enforcement has since provided a different story about the last time Matt was seen.

On April 15th, 2018, Matthew Henry drove his white Ford Mustang to Tractor Supply, where he left it in the parking lot and got inside a truck with a person who has yet to be publicly named.

The individual who was last seen was questioned, but that questioning led nowhere.

Authorities believe that was the day Matthew Tyler Henry died.

Their investigation revealed that in the days leading to his disappearance, Matt was anxious and fearful; some say they told him he needed to carry some protection. The most startling of all is that Matt is said to have told at least one person that he believed he would soon be missing.

Shortly after he was last seen, rumors that Matt was deceased started being told. These rumors made their way to Facebook, alarming Matt’s loved ones.

A missing person report was filed on April 27th, 2018.

Interviews and searches have been conducted, and in the fall of 2019, a sealed search warrant was issued for a home where a man resided. The reason for this search warrant and what, if anything, was found remain unsaid to the public.

Sequatchie Sheriff Bill Phillips said, “It is a missing person’s case because we don’t have a body”.

Someone out there holds the key to providing closure for a family that feels like many consider Matt and the others who are missing are now “out of sight, out of mind”. The feeling that someone you love has been forgotten is another pain of its own, especially when you are still asking for help finding them.

Help tell others about Matt’s case, and maybe we can reach someone who can and will provide answers.
