Food Drive at the Marion County Courthouse

Marion County David Jackson is asking the community to feed those in need in Marion County. The Courthouse in Jasper is holding a food drive. They will collect non-perishable food and canned goods until December 31, 2025.

Please bring your donated items to the Courthouse. Containers will be placed in the front lobby. Items can be dropped off from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All donations will be given to the Marion County Community Ministries food bank.

President Donald Trump’s administration said Monday that it will partially fund SNAP.

It’s not clear how much beneficiaries will receive or how quickly they will see value show up on the debit cards they use to buy groceries. Loading the SNAP cards, which involves steps by state and federal government agencies and vendors, can take up to two weeks in some states. The average monthly benefit is usually about $190 per person.
