Sequatchie Valley Electric Co-op was made aware that some of its members in the Grundy County area were experiencing blinking and dimming issues over the last few days. Power blinks and dimming are signs that the system is functioning correctly, clearing temporary problems such as tree limbs brushing against the line or animals making contact with equipment. However, when frequent blinking persists, this indicates to SVEC the need for system maintenance in that area.
SVEC’s skilled linemen and engineering team worked as quickly as possible to identify and correct the cause of these interruptions. They inspected every pole within a 10-mile span of the transmission line. They even took the innovative approach to utilize drone technology for a closer look.
As a reminder, if you notice frequent dimming or repeated blinks, please notify SVEC so they can investigate your area.
