A Chattanooga resident has been charged following an incident involving multiple law enforcement agencies during a vehicle pursuit in a car rented through a vehicle share program.
The police report says the pursuit began in Alabama on August 30, 2025, shortly before midnight and continued along I-24 through Marion, Dade, and Hamilton counties. Law enforcement personnel from Marion County, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the Chattanooga Police Department discontinued the pursuit of the white Audi SUV after losing visual contact. At one stage, the vehicle reportedly reached speeds more than 100 miles per hour.
Bradley County authorities observed the vehicle traveling northbound on I-75 but chose not to initiate a chase. The investigation required several months before leading to an arrest.
Detectives acquired the vehicle’s registration information and determined that the owner had rented the Audi via a sharing program. Further investigation identified the suspect as 37-year-old Reginald Williams.
Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers executed a search warrant, and deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Williams on Wednesday, January 7. He faces two counts of evading arrest and two counts of reckless endangerment.
Williams is scheduled for a court appearance on Tuesday, March 3.
