Anthony Gamble Announces Candidacy for Marion County Sheriff

Anthony Gamble, a dedicated 32-year veteran of local law enforcement, officially announces his campaign for Marion County Sheriff in the upcoming 2026 election. Sheriff Bo Burnett has announced he will not seek re-election.

Drawing on the majority of his law enforcement career serving with the Marion County Sheriff’s department and currently in leadership as a Sergeant, Gamble has earned a reputation as a servant leader for the people and established core principles for leading the Sheriff’s Office with integrity and transparency.

“I am running for Sheriff because I believe this office should be about the people, and I want to bring that focus back.  I am prepared to give the people of Marion County a Sheriff’s Department that is fair and accountable, one that they can trust and have confidence in knowing our neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces will be kept safe and protected.”

As Marion County Sheriff, Gamble states he will build trust with the community by ensuring consistency while being both available and visible.  Additionally, Gamble asserts that deputies will be provided training that is effective and relevant.  Looking forward, Gamble explains that the youth are the future of Marion County, and he intends to invest in their success by growing the current programs and collaborating with local government agencies to provide additional support.

“My wife Shannon and I have a lifelong connection to Marion County that began with the roots of our ancestors who farmed and coalmined this valley. We were both raised here and have children and grandchildren that live here and attend our schools. I’ve owned and operated a business here, led Christmas for Kids, led Step for Kids, helped to train football programs, served as minister at our county jail, and have been a School Resource Officer while Shannon has taught and coached our youth for 30 years.”

Gamble encourages residents to visit www.AnthonyGambleSheriff.com and to follow his campaign’s Facebook page (Anthony Gamble, Marion County Sheriff Candidate) for more information about his vision for Marion County’s Sheriff Department and to learn how to get involved in the campaign.

“With your vote, I will bring serving and protecting YOU, the people, back to the focus of our Sheriff’s department.  I’m Anthony Gamble and I thank you for your support.”
