TDOT Preparing for Pothole Repairs

The Tennessee Department of Transportation is preparing to address pothole repairs throughout the state following significant damage caused by recent winter storms. Maintenance crews will employ cold-mix asphalt for expedited patching, with comprehensive and permanent repairs scheduled for the spring and early summer months. Motorists should anticipate traffic delays, particularly during off-peak hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.

During the winter storm, TDOT crews operated continuously for eight days, focusing on road clearance and assisting drivers, especially within Middle and West Tennessee. This effort involved 99,000 staff hours, the application of 73,000 tons of salt, and the removal of thousands of trees.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution in work zones and adhere to Tennessee’s “Work With Us – Move Over, Slow Down” law. To report potholes, please contact the TDOTFIX Hotline at 833-TDOTFIX or online maintenance request.
