Fire Destroys Mobile Home in Sequatchie County

A brush fire ended up destroying an unoccupied trailer home off Big Fork Road in Sequatchie County on Thursday, March 5.

Crews with the Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department responded around 6:00pm to the scene, around the time the brush fire extended to the building.

Firefighters immediately started fire suppression efforts to bring it under control and prevent flames from spreading further into the surrounding brush and wooded area.

Due to water supply needs, they called Walden Ridge Emergency Services for mutual aid.

The Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office was also there to help secure the scene.

“Thanks to the quick response and teamwork between agencies, crews were able to contain the fire and prevent further spread,” Lone Oak VFD stated. “We appreciate the assistance from Walden Ridge Emergency Services and the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office.
