Elementary School Student Facing Charges After Threat Sustained in Grundy County

A student at North Elementary School in Grundy County is facing charges following an investigation into threats directed toward other students.

According to North Elementary staff, on Thursday, March 12, school officials received information that a student had allegedly formulated a plan to harm several classmates. The administration immediately notified law enforcement, and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) conducted a thorough investigation into the matter.

Authorities report that the investigation substantiated the threat. In accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated and Grundy County Board of Education policy, any confirmed threat of mass violence constitutes a zero-tolerance offense.
