MARION COUNTY I-24 TDOT Contractor eastbound from MM 141.5 to MM 157.8: Big Woody’s Tree Service will be performing mechanical tree and brush removal 04/30/26 – 05/06/26 from 7 AM to 5 PM. Big Woody’s will be closing shoulder in the East bound direction. West bound will not be affected.
MARION COUNTY I-24 TDOT Contractor westbound from MM 156.4 to MM 141.1: Big Woody’s Tree Service will be performing mechanical tree and brush removal 04/30/26 – 05/06/26 from 7 AM to 5 PM. Big Woody’s will be closing shoulder in the West bound direction. East bound will not be affected.
MARION COUNTY I-24 [137-138.2] from 137 to 138.2 Rockfall Mitigation on I-24 near MM 137: The contractor will be performing rockfall mitigation operations on I-24 WB beginning at MM 138.2 in Marion County. The middle lane, right lane, and right shoulder have been closed. 2 Lanes of traffic have been shifted to flow on the left shoulder and left lane. All lanes will be reopened to traffic by May 22, 2026. Work will continue off the road after May 22 and the project will be completed by July 31, 2026.
MARION COUNTY SR-108 [2.8-3.24] slide mitigation: The contractor will be performing slide mitigation operations, including grading, drainage and paving on SR-108 in Marion County at LM 2.8. The roadway will be reduced to one lane controlled by temporary traffic signals. The project completion date is 08/31/2027. Please use caution when driving through the work zone.
MARION COUNTY SR-2 [17.2-17.3] from 17.2 to 17.3 construction: The contractor will be performing grading and drainage operations on SR-2 in Marion County near LM 17.25. This work will require a lane shift for the EB traffic, the WB traffic will be unaffected. Please slow down and use caution when driving through the work zone.
MARION COUNTY SR-283 [2.69-8.11] from 2.69 to 8.11 resurfacing with Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR): The contractor will be performing resurfacing operations on SR-283 from near SR-27 (LM 2.69) to the Sequatchie County line (LM 8.11). This work will require single lane closure controlled by flaggers. Please use caution when driving through the work zone.
Drivers traveling on SR 27 (Rossville Boulevard) in Hamilton County should be aware of upcoming roadway activities that will impact traffic. Beginning Monday, May 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. ET through Friday, May 15, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. ET, Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will close one lane in each direction on SR 27 (Rossville Boulevard) for paving operations at the following intersections:
- East 28th Street
- East 32nd Street
- East 37th Street
- East 48th Street/Dodds Avenue
All lanes will be reopened on the weekends for the duration of this work.
TDOT contract crews will also be paving the mainline of SR 27 (Rossville Boulevard) Sunday through Thursday nights from 8:00 p.m. ET to 6:00 a.m. ET.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution as they travel through this area and expect delays. This work is weather-dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances cause delays, it will be rescheduled for a later date. Uniformed police officers will be present to assist with traffic control and law enforcement.
