A man from Alabama wanted in connection with child sexual abuse charges was apprehended on Friday after East Ridge detectives located him inside a pickup truck at a hotel on Ringgold Road. Charles Wayne Hice, age 66, was sought by the DeKalb County, Alabama Sheriff’s Office pursuant to warrants for the alleged sexual abuse of a child under 12 years old.

Upon arrival, officers identified a pickup truck registered to Jonathan LeCroy parked outside the hotel with the engine running.

Detectives and patrol officers secured the vehicle, arresting Hice, who was found in the passenger seat, while LeCroy was identified as the driver. LeCroy was charged with accessory after the fact, as authorities allege, he rented a hotel room for Hice and provided transportation.
