Update on Ja’Mychal Buckner Rape Case

A Marion County judge has granted bond to former South Pittsburg High School football player Ja’Mychal Buckner, who is charged with raping a 16‑year‑old girl. Buckner will be released under strict conditions, including wearing an ankle monitor and avoiding all contact with the teen and her family.

He is due back in court on Aug. 26.

Buckner was taken into custody earlier this month after investigators alleged he assaulted the minor. His bond hearing had been postponed while attorneys addressed procedural issues in the case.
