Buckner gets No Jail Time after Pleading Guilty to Lesser Charges

Ja’Mychal Buckner

Last year Jamychal Buckner was a football star for the South Pittsburg Pirates. One year later he was facing a rape charge.

After being accused of raping a 16-year-old he has pleaded guilty to reduced charges, avoiding the rape charge that led to his arrest earlier this summer.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of misdemeanor assault and another misdemeanor assault charge described in the document as involving offensive touching.

The court granted Buckner judicial diversion for 2.5 years.

Under the terms of the judgment, Buckner will serve six months of supervised probation and must have no contact with the juvenile victim.
