During the incident, a victim was operating a motor vehicle when the vehicle was fired upon three times. The victim was struck by gunfire once in the leg. The victim received medical treatment for their injuries.
Deputies and investigators conducted a canvas of the surrounding area, which resulted in the collection of evidence that will be submitted for forensic testing as part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a gold or tan-colored SUV that may have been involved in the shooting. Anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have seen this vehicle, the shooting, or any suspicious activity is encouraged to contact the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office.
The Grundy County Criminal Investigation Division continues to actively investigate this incident. Information from members of the public can be extremely valuable in helping investigators establish what occurred and identify those responsible.
