The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to work alongside Grundy County High School regarding reports and allegations involving a student possibly having a firearm.

The Sheriff’s Office takes any concern involving school safety extremely serious. All reports of potential threats are thoroughly investigated, and the department will continue working closely with school administrationand law enforcement partners to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff.

GCSO encourages students, parents, staff, and community members to report any legitimate concerns, threats, or information they may have to law enforcement or school officials.

At the same time, everyone is asked to avoid spreading rumors, speculation, or information that has not been confirmed. False information can create unnecessary fear and make an already serious situation more difficult for everyone involved.
