Man Charged after Stray Bullet Strikes Female

On September 17 around 2:40 pm, the Dunlap Police reported to Court Loop after a call from a female that was shot with serious injuries. The victim, Camery Y. Kirkpatrick was transported by a private vehicle to Erlanger Sequatchie before deputies arrived and later transported to Erlanger Chattanooga.

During the investigation the shooter was identified as Jermaine D. Akina and weapon was recovered. Akina was allegedly shooting at an aggressive dog. A bullet he fired entered the home of Kirkpatrick.

Akina was arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment. He is scheduled for court on October 7.
