The Sequatchie Co. Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of at least one resident receiving a phone call obviously attempting to scam the receiver into sending money for bail bond. The caller advises they are with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and that a relative of the person receiving the call is in jail and needing them to contact them at the number provided. The scammers had the proper name of the person receiving the call as well as the relative they were advising was incarcerated, so they have information that might entice someone to contact them and fall for the scam.
Please be aware of this scam and notify your loved ones who may be vulnerable to such operation.
