On March 1, 2024, the Dunlap Police Department, Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office, and Tennessee Highway Patrol held their School Bus Blitz event. Officers were placed on random Sequatchie County school buses during regular bus routes to observe driver violations while other officers followed, issuing citations. Several citations were issued during this event.

TCA 55-8-151 states that not stopping for school bus stop signs is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not less than $250 and points on your driving record. This law is strictly enforced in the City of Dunlap and Sequatchie County.
