National Police Week was established in 1962 when President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day. The same year, Congress established the week in which May 15 falls as National Police Week. This week is dedicated to honoring law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty and recognizing all law enforcement personnel.
Please take a moment with us to remember all those in law enforcement who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
