Marion County Schools will implement the Rave Panic Button app as a new safety measure at the beginning of this school year. The app is designed to improve student safety by directly connecting to the county’s 911 operations.
Superintendent Dr. Mark Griffith stated that the panic button had been considered for some time. During a recent test at Monteagle Elementary, the system worked as intended; however, Dr. Griffith noted that the location information was not as specific as expected when staff used the panic button. Additional testing is scheduled to take place this week.
