Rockslide on Monteagle Mountain Tuesday Evening

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), a rockslide occurred in Marion County on Tuesday evening, obstructing a portion of Interstate 24 near mile marker 137 in Monteagle at approximately 2:30 p.m.

All westbound lanes, including the right shoulder, were reported blocked; however, the left shoulder remained accessible.

TDOT spokesperson Rae Anne Bradley stated that crews worked for several hours to remove debris and restore normal traffic flow.
