A Scottsboro woman is facing multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop Tuesday night, according to the Scottsboro Police Department.

Police said the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. on May 26 when officers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling without headlights or taillights illuminated during nighttime hours.

According to authorities, the driver continued a short distance before stopping at a residence on Wilson Street. During the investigation, officers identified the driver as 46-year-old Lisa Ann Yuris of Scottsboro.

Police said officers learned Yuris was operating the vehicle with a revoked driver’s license.

While speaking with the driver, officers reportedly detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A subsequent search allegedly resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Yuris was charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)
  • Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Authorities said Yuris was transported to the Scottsboro City Jail, where she was booked without incident before later being transferred to the Jackson County Jail on the felony charge.

In a statement, the Scottsboro Police Department said it remains committed to proactive traffic enforcement and removing illegal narcotics from the community.
