Town of Jasper Planning Four-Day Independence Day Celebration Honoring America’s 250th Birthday

The Town of Jasper is preparing for a four-day community celebration as part of America’s 250th birthday festivities, with events scheduled from July 1 through July 4 culminating in the town’s annual “Big Boom” fireworks celebration.

Town officials say the celebration is designed to bring residents and visitors together for four days of family-friendly activities, entertainment, and patriotic events.

The festivities begin Wednesday, July 1, with a Community Church Service in the Park at 6 p.m. at Jasper City Park. The celebration continues Thursday, July 2, with a Movie in the Park beginning at 7:45 p.m.

On Friday, July 3, the community will gather for a patriotic parade at 7:30 p.m., featuring local participants, decorated entries, and a festive atmosphere as the town gears up for Independence Day.

The celebration reaches its peak on Saturday, July 4, with the annual Big Boom Independence Day Celebration at Jasper City Park. Activities begin at 4 p.m. and continue throughout the evening with food vendors, craft vendors, family activities, and live entertainment.

One of the highlights of the event will be a performance by classic rock tribute band A Foreigners Journey to Boston, bringing the music of Foreigner, Journey, and Boston to the stage ahead of the fireworks display.

The evening concludes with Jasper’s signature fireworks show, scheduled to begin at approximately 9 p.m.

Town officials are currently accepting registrations from food and craft vendors interested in participating in the celebration. Vendors can obtain information by emailing maryhaleyadams@jaspertn.gov or by visiting Jasper City Hall at 32 Courthouse Square.

The event is free and open to the public.

Organizers say the four-day celebration is intended to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary—while providing opportunities for community fellowship, entertainment, and patriotic pride throughout the holiday week.

Residents are encouraged to make plans now to attend one or all of the events as Jasper celebrates Independence Day in a big way with four days of festivities leading up to the Big Boom on July 4.
