Sequatchie County Schools were closed Tuesday, August 11, after a power outage affected the district.

School officials said shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday that a power pole was down on school grounds, resulting in the outage.

The district said it had been in contact with Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative, which was working to restore power.

Sequatchie County Schools said additional updates would be provided as information became available.
