School Threats Under Investigation in Grundy County

Grundy County Schools (GCS) increased School Resource Officer (SRO) presence on Monday, September 14, 2026, and as needed, throughout the week following a potential threat on Friday, September 11, 2026.

They say the investigation into a reported threat remains ongoing.

Since Friday, GCS says they have also become aware of online discussions related to potential threats involving GCHS.

School officials say the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security have been notified and are actively investigating the online discussions as well as the information associated with Friday’s incident.

 

Sequatchie Valley Now learned on Monday that 179 high school students did not attend on Monday.
